A simple guacamole recipe to serve with tortilla chips, raw veggies, or on top of a salad or taco!
I have to admit—I was very skeptical of avocados when I first started eating healthy and they became popular. I thought they were weird and only good in guacamole—what was I thinking?! While they certainly are delicious in guacamole, I’ve grown to absolutely love avocados with almost anything.
I was first introduced to guacamole at a family picnic when my Aunt Sally made it and I couldn’t stop eating it. Her recipe is super simple and I have yet to find any that tastes better.
I’ve seen recipes for guacamole with garlic, cilantro, jalapeno, and more, and even though I love all those ingredients, this recipe is delicious because it’s so simple and fresh. Other than avocados, all the other ingredients are tomatoes, onion, lime juice, salt, and pepper.
As you may know, I’m currently doing the Whole 30 program, so although I love tortilla chips and I got some for Zack to eat, chips are not an option for me. This guacamole is just as good with fresh veggies or on top of a taco or salad. Enjoy!

A simple guacamole recipe to serve with tortilla chips, raw veggies, or on top of a salad or taco!
You'll Need...
- 3 avocados
- 2 tomatoes, chopped (I prefer Roma because they’re not as juicy)
- 1/3 cup onions, chopped
- 2 teaspoons lime juice
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
Directions
- Mash the avocados. I use a potato masher and leave a few chunks.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and mix.
Additional Notes
If you don't finish the guacamole, pack it down into in an airtight container and put about half an inch of water on top (to keep air from getting to the dip). Just pour off the water and stir before eating again.
