A simple, homemade version of the popular dry ranch seasoning, to use on chicken, in dips and dressings, on top of popcorn, and more!
Hi all! I haven’t posted an actual blog post in awhile because life has been BUSY. I’ve been doing some freelance work on the side, which I’m super excited about, but that also means I have to balance that with my full-time job, The Small Town Foodie, and life in general (it’s been so nice outside–who wants to spend the weekend working inside?!)
Anyways, although I absolutely love blogging, it seems to be the thing that unfortunately got pushed to the side a bit while I’m learning to deal with this craziness I call my life. I’m going to try my best going forward to post at least once a week, though, because I’ve got all kinds of recipes and tips I want to share with you!
Today’s recipe is super simple, but at the same time, it’s necessary to share! So many people are spending crazy amounts of money on the ranch seasoning at the store, when they most likely have all the ingredients to make it already.
Plus, have you read the ingredients on the back of a ranch packet?! It includes: Maltodextrin, buttermilk, salt, monosodium glutamate, lactic acid, dried garlic, dried onion, spices, citric acid, calcium stearate, artificial flavors, xanthan gum, carboxymethylcellulose, guar gum, natural flavors (soy).
All you need are a few different spices and you can make this yourself, without all the added matlodextrin, monosodium glutamate, and other ingredients I can’t even pronounce.
Once you make your ranch seasoning, there are so many uses! Mix it with Greek yogurt for a healthy dip, toss potatoes in it for ranch roasted potatoes, add it to chicken before grilling, mix it with homemade mayo for ranch dressing, add it to mashed potatoes, or sprinkle it on top of stovetop popcorn for a healthy snack.
Stop buying the dry ranch seasoning at the store, when you can easily make your own healthier version at home!
