Pineapple, banana, coconut, and spinach combine to create a tropical green smoothie that is not only delicious and refreshing, but packed with nutrients!
I have somewhat of a love-hate relationship with smoothies. I’ll have one every single day then I’ll go weeks without one at all. I love how portable they are and all the different ingredients that can be added to them, but at the same time I always find myself drinking them WAY too fast and ending up with a stomach ache and hungry again soon after.
So yeah, drink your smoothies slow, especially this tropical green smoothie because it is SO GOOD. The different types of fruit with the coconut is so refreshing and makes me feel like I’m sitting on some tropical island relaxing in the sun. I WISH.
All the naturally sweet flavors make it so you can’t even tell there’s a bunch of spinach in it, which is perfect for getting a good dose of greens in the morning (or whenever you decide to drink one). I usually buy frozen fruit or freeze my own for smoothies, but you can use fresh if you prefer, you just may need to add some ice cubes.
If you’re not familiar with chia seeds, they add a ton of nutrients including fiber, protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and calcium, as well as antioxidants. The recipe also calls for coconut milk, which adds to the delicious flavor and is super healthy. Buy coconut milk in a can (usually found in the Asian section) rather than a big carton in the refrigerated section, which usually has all kinds of added ingredients, like sugar and cane juice.
Even if you’re not on a warm beach soaking up the sun and listening to the waves come in, you can still feel like it with this refreshing and healthy tropical green smoothie!
